The onset of Fall gets everyone excited for a change from summer. By September everyone is craving Pumpkin Spiced lattes, sweaters and boots, and a new look. Here are some of the hair styles that are trending this Fall.

            The deep side part has been seen on many runways. This classic yet sophisticated look can be worn while the hair is down, in a bun, or a ponytail. The most popular ponytail has been a low, messy ponytail adorned with some kind of hair accessory. fall hair trends at Christiaan Salon and Day Spa, Providence, RIOur favorite hair accessory for the low pony is a leather string wrapped at the base of the ponytail. The leather string gave the ponytail a textured, finished look. Leather seems to be the hot material in hair accessories, including headbands. To achieve the elegant, polished side part look, follow these simple directions:

  • Apply KMS Tame Frizz Smoothing Crème on towel dried hair, followed by KMS Quick Blow Dry Spray.
  • Get hair 80% dry then section hair out and blow dry using a large round brush.
  • On the top section of hair, create a dramatic side part. Wherever the part is located will become the focal point of your face, so choose the side you prefer best!
  • Finish with Pureology Anti-Breakage twist to smooth any fly aways in the crown area and use some on the hair ends to create a more piecey look.

            If you are looking for a more lived in, fun look, bohemian long waves are still the desired look by many designers for their fashion shows.  A great way to get this look is to prep towel dried hair with KMS Hot Flex Spray on mid-shaft to ends, apply KMS Root Lift to the roots in the crown area, and follow with KMS Quick Blow Dry Spray. Use a roud brush to get some volume in the root area. Once dry, apply KMS 2-in-1 Heat Styling Spray.  Curl sections with a 1&1/2-2 inch barrel curling iron, holding it vertically and beginning in the middle of the hair shaft working your way towards the end, leaving the very ends out to keep a sexy, tousled look. Re-apply 2-in-1 spray.  Once cool, use a pea sized amount of Pureology Anti-Breakage Twist, rub between hands and tousle curls to for a beachy waved look. Follow with KMS Extreme Hold Hairspray.
